What hardware do I need for my location?
Point of Sale System (POS) and Server
The POS or Point Of Sale, is your cash register of the location. It allows the attendant to add new customers, sale computer time, and redeem winnings to the customer. With the Figure 8 POS system it makes running your Business Center or Internet Cafe a breeze. It only takes a few minutes of training and almost anyone is ready to begin helping customers. The server is the brain of the room. It communicates all data to the user terminals, POS, and back to Figure 8 main servers. The server holds all the location's information including winnings, free points, and computer time remaining.
Items included with the POS and Server purchase are: 2 towers (one is the POS, the other is the Location Server), 1 monitor, mouse, keyboard, thermal printer, battery back up surge protector, cash drawer, and router.
User Terminals
User terminals come in different styles and types, from touch screens to regular widescreen monitors. However, all serve the same purpose. They allow your customers to use their Computer Time in order to surf the web, play fun games, create documents, use training videos, and much more. The user terminals are also where the customer can reveal their sweepstakes entries either through an Instant Reveal feature or through our exciting and interactive Sweepstakes Games.
Items included with purchase are: Tower and Monitor, Switches, Cat 5 cables, and Surge Protectors.
Re-Loader Kiosk
This piece of hardware is optional yet highly recommended. Re-Loaders are often referred to as a recharge, or an AA (automated attendant). No matter what the name, it simply allows your customers to quickly purchase more computer time without having to wait or interact at all with the attendant at the location. This is great for those private customers who really don't want to be bothered by other people or as volume increases with the Internet Cafe or Business Center. It helps for more efficient service to the customers and reduces waiting.
Items included with purchase are: Kiosk (all necessary components including bill acceptor), battery back up surge protector, and Cat 5 cable needed.
Connection/Network
A high-speed Internet connection with a Static IP address is needed at each location. All hardware items are connected and linked with cat 5 cables through switches and direct lines to the router. This forms a network, on which, the terminals, POS, and Kiosk can communicate with the Server. If you do not understand Networking, do not worry. We are here to assist you. We can guide you through everything over the phone. An on site installation package is also available.
